The newly inaugurated Chairman and Executive Directors of the board of Delta State Internal Revenue Service (DSIRS) on Tuesday assumed duties at the corporate headquarters of the service in Warri.

Members of the board of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service led by screened and confirmed Hon Solomon Ighrakpata were screened and confirmed by the Delta State House of Assembly on July 18, 2023.

They were subsequently inaugurated on Friday, July 21, 2023, by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori with a clear mandate to expand the State tax net by bringing in more businesses in the informal sector.

Chairman of the revenue board, Hon Solomon Ighrakpata, who briefed journalists, urged every taxable adult and entity to endeavour to pay their tax as no man is above the law.

Hon Ighrakpata and his team who were conducted round various offices at the corporate headquarters by the Service Director of Administration, Mrs A. A. Ogbobine said they are committed to the mandate given to them.

He disclosed that the Enforcement Unit of the Service will be strengthened to ensure that defaulters are prosecuted.

Hon Ighrakpata said adequate enlightenment would be carried out for Deltans to understand the need for them to pay their taxes in achieving the needed tax expansion for the state that will help the Oborevwori administration to actualise its MORE Agenda.

He urged members of his board and staff to brace up for the task ahead as there will be no room for laxity.

Hon Ighrakpata said hard work will be highly appreciated and sued for the support of all.

Working with Hon Ighrakpata to achieve the tax expansion mandate needed for the development of the state are Dr Frank Nwugo, Executive Director Operations, Kelly Oghenekevwe, Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Collins Iwebunor, Executive Director, ICT and Corporate Development and Hon Orezi Esievo as Executive Director, Legal Services.
