Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government in Delta State, Olorogun Jaro Egbo has reviewed downward the rates and rents for lockup shops and open market shops at Ughelli Main Market.
Olorogun Egbo in a statement signed by the Head of Personnel Management (BPM) for Ughelli North Local Government, Mr Ase Timothy, also reviewed downward payment for Certificate of Local Government of Origin as part of his response to the hitting economic situation in the country.
Egbo moves to tackle hardship in Ughelli North, reduces rates for shops, others
Following the review, payment for Lockup Shops and Open Market Shops now attracts ₦48,000 (Forty-eight Thousand Naira) and ₦24,000 (Twenty-four Thousand Naira) respectively while payment of Certificate of Local Government of Origin was reviewed downward to ₦5,000 (Five Thousand Naira).
Consequently, Olorogun Egbo directed that all revenue accuring from the issuance of Certificate of Local Government of Origin should “solely be allocated to providing Schools Benches and Free School Uniforms to public primary schools where benches and school uniforms are adequate”.
Egbo further directed that revenue from market should be “allocated to Cleaning/Environment Upgrade of Local Government”.
He urged all and sundry to key into the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda for the benefit of all Deltans.
