Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has said that he is always excited seeing Chairmen of local government councils taking proactive steps towards development.
Guwor who stated this while inaugurating Ekpan Modern Market and Abattoir executed by the Uvwie Local Government Council, said the historic milestone was commendable.
Flanked by the Executive Chairman, Delta State Internal Revenue Service, Hon Solomon Ighrakpata, the Chairman of the Council, Chief Anthony Ofoni and the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, Emmanuel Sideso Abe 1, amongst others, the Speaker praised the efforts of the Council Boss on the quality of the projects and assured of the Delta State House of Assembly’s continued support for grassroots development.
Rt Hon Guwor conveyed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s gratitude for the progress in Uvwie and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to further development in the locality, noting that Uvwie has transformed into a major construction site.
Rt. Hon. Guwor congratulated Abe 1 for the positive narratives in Uvwie and Ekpan community for the relative peace in the locality, even as he prayed for unity and progress in the kingdom.
The Speaker said, “I am honored to be part of this momentous occasion of the commissioning of 94 open stores and abattoir projects executed by the Chairman of this local government council. This achievement demonstrates the council’s commitment to improving the lives of its citizens.
“These projects will undoubtedly boost economic growth, provide employment opportunities, and enhance the overall well-being of the community. As Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, I am proud to see our local governments taking proactive steps towards development.
“I commend the chairman and the entire council for their tireless efforts in making these projects a reality. Your dedication to the people of this local government area is truly commendable.
“As we gather here today, let us remember that true leadership is about serving the people and making a positive impact on their lives. I urge you all to continue working together towards a brighter future for our state.
“Once again, congratulations to the Chairman and the people of this local government area on this remarkable achievement”, Guwor stated.
Meanwhile as part of the commissioning ceremony, 15 women from the Ekpan community received various empowerment from the Council Chairman.
The Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor who was the Special Guest of Honour at the event supported the empowerment programme with half a million naira.
Executive Chairman, Delta State Internal Revenue Service, DSIRS, Hon Solomon Ighrakpata, also supported the employment programme with half a million naira.
The Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Hon Anthony Ofoni, expressed gratitude to the Speaker, Emomotimi Guwor and Hon Solomon Ighrakpata for their unwavering support and encouragement.
Ofoni reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development and economic empowerment in the local government area.
The Ovie of Uvwie, Emmanuel Sideso (JP) OON, Abe 1, commended the chairman of the Council for bringing development to Uvwie.
