The Chairman of Amachai Youth Association of Amachai community, Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Comrade Onwudinjo Emmanuel Agala, has called for a strong synergy among all stakeholders in the area towards achieving a new community with several socio-economic developments.
Comrade Agala, who made the call at Okpanam on the occasion of the swearing-in of the second democratically elected chairman and executive members of the association, lauded the youths in the area for their love for one another and peaceful dispositions at all times.
Comrade Agala, while commending Amachai youths for finding him and his executive members worthy to be the opportunity to serve with a view to contributing modestly in the upliftment of the community, urged the people to have faith with his leadership in its determination to transform Amachai community.
The Amachai Youth Chairman General, who disclosed that the focus of his administration was centred on the implementation of development, scholarship, discipline and empowerment to youths in the area, through its strategic approach, the association would also ensure constant supply of electricity and building of a community town.
Comrade Onwudinjo Agala, pledged to consolidate on the gains so far attained and appealed to those that contested for one position or the other but could not succeed to join hands with his executives to build the community, just as he appreciated the elders as well as youths in the community for identifying with him through their votes.
Presenting certificates of return to the newly elected EXCO, the Diokpa-Isi of Amachai Quarters, Ogbueshi Diokpa Mathias Okolie, who was represented by diokpa Raymond Eguogwu enjoined them to strive towards the development of Amachai and congratulated them for their victory.
The State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Patrick Ukah, represented by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Development, Hon. Innocent Uchibuolu, urged the community to continue to leave as one and shun any that could bring division among them.
For his part, Special Assistant to Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on Waterways and Land Security, Hon. Chibueze Pino Aniemeka, commended Comrade Agala led executive for their victory, stressing that there was the need for everybody in the community to render their support to them.
In their separate remarks, the Chairman of the Organising Committee for the event, Mr Eziafa Odeh, Director-General of Comrade Onwudinjo Agala Campaign Organisation, Mr Chukwudi Odeh and Comrade Joseph Ogbechie, popularly known as Sir Joe, described the chairman and his EXCO members as a formidable team whose track records in the community and Okpanam at large were worthy of emulation, even as the Secretary and Treasurer of the association, Comrade Onyeka Ogbechie and Comrade Hycenth Lotobi, said that they would ensure transparency and accountability in their leadership so as to carry everybody, especially youths along in the scheme of things.
Earlier in his goodwill message, a Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Chukwubuikem Okonmah, who underscored the importance of unity in the community said that it was heartwarming to note that the two factions in the community had put their differences behind them for the interest of developing Amachai quarters and called on all individuals in the community to throw their weight behind Comrade Agala and his executives.
The event was attended by the Special Assistant to the State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Felix Ideh who hails from Amachai community among other dignitaries.
