Senator Ede Dafinone has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians across Delta Central, Delta State, and Nigeria, urging citizens to embrace peace, unity, and national renewal in the spirit of the season.
In his Easter message, Dafinone reflected on the significance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, noting that, “Easter reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the triumph of hope over despair, light over darkness, and life over death.”
He emphasised that the season calls for deep reflection on core values, adding that, “This sacred season calls us to reflect on faith, humility, sacrifice, and our shared responsibility to build a more united and compassionate society.”
The lawmaker stressed the need for national healing and collective purpose, stating, “Nigeria needs healing and collective purpose, and Easter offers us a moment to recommit to peace, unity, and service to one another.”
Focusing on Delta Central and the wider state, Dafinone said the period presents a renewed opportunity for growth and development.
“For us in Delta Central and across Delta State, this is another opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to inclusive development, justice, and good governance,” he said.
He further urged Nigerians to embrace reconciliation and unity, noting that, “We must embrace forgiveness and strengthen the bonds that unite us as a people, regardless of our differences.”
Dafinone also called on Christians to offer prayers for the nation, particularly for leadership and resilience among citizens.
“I urge all Christians to use this solemn occasion to pray for our nation, for wisdom among our leaders, and for renewed strength among our people,” he said.
Reinforcing the need for perseverance and shared responsibility, he added, “We must remain steadfast in our pursuit of equity and progress, while continuing to uplift one another and inspire hope in our communities.”
He concluded with a message of hope and goodwill, saying, “May the joy of the risen Christ fill our hearts with peace, love, and renewed strength.”
