DTHA confirms Muoboghare, 10 others as commissioners

Eleven nominees for appointments as Commissioners and members of the Delta State Executive Council have been confirmed by the Delta State House of Assembly.

Their confirmation followed the successful screening of the nominees at Tuesday’s resumed plenary of the House, presided over by the Speaker, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

Those screened and had their appointments confirmed by the House include, Prof Patrick Muoboghare, Chika Ossai, Rt Hon Basil Ganagana, Chief Emmanuel Amgbadugba, Dr Mordi Ononye, Ovie Oghoore, Barr Bridget Ayanfulu and Hon Solomon Golley.

The three others whose letter conveying their nomination by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa was earlier read on the floor of the House by the Speaker, include Barr Isiah Bozimo, Hon Henry Siakpra and Jennifer Ama Anderson.

The motion for the confirmation of the appointments was moved by the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon Oboro Preyor, and adopted.

Some of the nominees, now Commissioner designates, including Prof Patrick Muoboghare, Chika Ossai and Emmanuel Amgbadugba while responding to questions raised, promised to further drive the Stronger Delta vision of the state government.

The confirmation of the eleven new nominees brought the total number of the Commissioners and members of the Delta State Executive Council to twenty nine, with four local government areas, namely Bomadi, Ethiope West, Isoko North and Oshimili South having two slots, while the other twenty one local government areas got one slot each.
