The Department of State Services (DSS) has denied arresting Godwin Emefiele on Friday after he was suspended from office as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
A few hours after President Bola Tinubu suspended Emefiele there were several media reports that the DSS also arrested him.
But, in a post on its Twitter handle on Saturday morning, the nation’s secret police said the suspended CBN governor is not in its custody.
The post simply said, “Currently, Emefiele is not with the DSS”.
