The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has paid glowing tributes to two foremost Urhobo monarchs as they marked significant coronation milestones, describing their reigns as pillars of peace, unity, and development across their respective kingdoms.
In a goodwill message to the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso, Senator Dafinone congratulated the monarch on his 18th Coronation Anniversary, which coincided with the formal launch of his biography, “Odyssey of Royalty: The Reign of Abe I, Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom.”
He described the double celebration as a fitting reflection of a reign defined by wisdom, dignity, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of the Uvwie people.
The senator particularly commended Abe I’s leadership as Chairman of the Council of Urhobo Traditional Rulers, noting that the enduring peace entrenched in Uvwie Kingdom over the past 18 years has provided the foundation for unity, stability, and unprecedented development.
According to Dafinone, the monarch’s reign has not only strengthened traditional institutions but has also positioned Uvwie Kingdom as a model of harmony and progress within Delta State.
In a separate message, the lawmaker also felicitated the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, Ukori I, on his 13th Coronation Anniversary, describing the milestone as a testament to steadfast leadership and visionary guidance.
He praised the Agbon monarch for consistently exemplifying dignity and responsibility in preserving the kingdom’s cultural heritage, while fostering peace, unity, and social cohesion among his people.
Senator Dafinone noted that the reign of Ukori I has strengthened communal bonds and advanced development, earning admiration beyond Agbon Kingdom.
The senator prayed for continued good health, wisdom, and divine protection for both monarchs, expressing confidence that their reigns would remain sources of pride, inspiration, and progress for present and future generations.
