Diebiri-Batan community in harmony with oil companies – Goodluck Ekpebide

The leadership of the Diebiri-Batan Community in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State has called on the indigenes to remain calm as efforts to clean up the oil spill which occurred in the community few days back is ongoing smoothly and the process to provide relief materials to the affected communities is also be facilitated by the leadership of the community.

Speaking at the site of the pipeline repair, Comrade Goodluck Ekpebide, Chairman of the Diebiri-Batan Community assured the Management of Heritage Oil and Gas Service company, operators of OML affected pipeline of the community continued cooperation.

He said any other body or persons coming in any guise to stop the cleaning excise is not recognized by the Batan Community.

He said Diebiri-Batan Community is safe for any company operations, and urged the Management of Heritage and OMS to disregard any plan by some scrupulous elements trying to cause confusion in the community.

In the same vein, Chief Joseph Egbelegbe and as well as the women leader, Mrs. Onome Amalade appealed to Heritage Company and other appropriate  government agencies to expedite actions on the clean-up exercise and the provision of relief materials as the spillage has affected their daily agricultural activities in the community

Heritage site Superintendent Engr Victor Orugbo and OMS representative praised the leadership of Diebiri-Batan Community for their cordial relationship

They assured the community of speedy rehabilitation of the erupted pipeline and the agreed relief materials would soon get to the affected communities.

Meanwhile, Comrade Goodluck Ekpebide took time to address the women of the community promising to actively involve them in any progressive activities in the community asking them to exercise patience with his Executives.
