Delta Speaker appoints Nkem Nwaeke as CPS

Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor has appointed Mr Nkem Nwaeke as his Chief Press Secretary.

Guwor who announced this during Tuesday’s plenary, noted that Nwaeke’s appointment takes immediate effect.

Speaking further on the appointment during a thank-you visit by Assembly Correspondents in his office, the Speaker stressed that Nwaeke’s appointment came after careful consideration just as he described Nwaeke as a media guru who knows his onions.

“You will recall that I took time to come up with this decision. The reason for the delay is to avoid making mistakes. Mr. Nkem Nwaeke is indeed a committed, dedicated and hard-working journalist.

“I have known Nkem Nwaeke for quite a long time and I have no doubt that he will discharge his new role creditably,” Guwor said.

Until his appointment, Nwaeke was Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) Warri correspondent in the State House of Assembly for a period spanning about two decades

Nwaeke, an Assistant-General Manager with the DBS Warri, and former Secretary, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) DBS, Warri Chapel, currently holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Mass Communication from the Delta State University, Abraka.
