The Delta State Police Command has announced that it will commence full enforcement of vehicle regulations on tinted glass across the state beginning Thursday, October 2, 2025.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Asaba, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said the exercise would be carried out in line with federal laws and directives, stressing that officers would act with professionalism, civility, and respect for citizens’ rights.
The Command also reiterated the ban on unauthorized use of sirens, revolving or strobe lights, and the covering, defacing, or obstruction of number plates by individuals not entitled to such privileges.
Motorists were further reminded to carry valid vehicle documents, including driver’s licence, insurance, and proof of ownership, and to ensure that their vehicles comply with transparency standards for glass.
Unauthorized sirens and flashing lights, the Command warned, must be removed immediately, while number plates should remain clear, legible, and properly affixed at all times.
Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, said the clampdown is aimed at halting road intimidation, curbing abuse, and improving public safety.
He directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to supervise field operations closely, ensuring respect for human rights during engagements.
He urged motorists to comply fully with the directives, warning that offenders would face the full wrath of the law.
The Command also encouraged members of the public to report misconduct through its Complaint Response Unit on 09155570008, 09011112311, 09064308018, and 09066575187.
