Delta PDP first Woman Leader, Emeka Tadiodi, dies of brain cancer

First Woman Leader of the Delta State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Emeka Tadiodi, has passed on at the age of 70.

Her second son, Mr Duke Owhoyorua Tadiodi, who confirmed her death to NewsNet Nigeria said their mother passed away at 5:45pm on Monday, September 13, 2021, in Lagos after battling brain cancer for about six months.

“She died of brain cancer. And we have been dealing with it since April this year.

“We have done surgeries, everything but unfortunately the tumour grew back more aggressively,” Duke said in a brief phone chat with NewsNet Nigeria.

Born June 15, 1951, Dr Emeka Tadiodi, was a native of Eziagbogu Mbaise in Imo State and by marriage from Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

She is survived by her husband and four children.

Dr Emeka Tadiodi was first State Woman Leader, PDP Delta State from August 1998 to September 2003, Co-coordinator, Women in Nigeria, Delta State, Member, Forum of Nigeria Women in Politics, Delta State, Deputy Chairman, Publicity Committee Defunct GDM, Delta State, Secretary State Disciplinary Committee, Defunct GDM, Delta State and Chairman Caretaker Committee Udu LGA Defunct GDM.

Other positions she held include Member, Delta Central Advisory Council to Senator Fred Brume 1999-2003, Member, Ibori Campaign Organization 1997-1998, Member and Secretary, State Disciplinary Committee PDP Delta State. 1998-Sept 2003, Member, State Reconciliation Committee, PDP Delta State (Defunct)
Committee 2000-2001 and Member, Governing Council, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka,
Anambra State.
