The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council has eulogized the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, on the occasion of his 58th birthday, describing him as an illustrious Deltan with a heart of gold.

In a statement signed by the Chairman, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu and the Secretary, Comrade Patrick Ochei, the union congratulated the Orogun politician for being an instrument of quality leadership both in the state and at the national level.

Recognising the Senator’s effort at attracting dividends of democracy to his Delta Central Senatorial District and by extension, the entire Delta State, the union wished him more grace in his capacity as a federal lawmaker to do more for the people of Delta.

The Union recalled DSP Omo-Agege’s recent emergence as the best serving Senator from Delta State according to a Mid-Term Assessment Report on the 9th National Assembly in the country which was conducted by Order Paper Nigeria in collaboration with Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), dotCivics and Coalition of Nigeria Compatriots (CNC).

The Union urged him to use the opportunity and grace of God for him to celebrate another added year to his age to redouble his commitment towards the promotion of good governance.

The union also used the medium of DSP’s birth anniversary to request that he galvanises the support of his colleagues towards ensuring that INEC is truly made independent to conduct credible elections in 2023 and beyond.

According to the statement, “We are pleased with your performance so far in the National Assembly and it is our pleasure to use this medium to celebrate you.

“We urge you to continue to do your utmost good in the best interest of Deltans. As an unbiased and non-partisan major stakeholder in the society, we will continue to create platforms for all people in the state to utilise, irrespective of political affiliation or otherwise.

“Once again, we wish you a warm and glorious birthday filled with joy and bliss,” the statement read.
