Delta NUJ condoles Anirah over mother’s death

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Delta State Council has expressed its deep condolence to the member representing Sapele Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Felix Anirah, over the demise of his mother.

Mrs Clara Anirah (Nee Pemu), the mother of Hon Anirah, who died recently at the age of 95, hailed from Adagbrasa-Elume in Sapele Local Government Area.

While conveying the condolence of the Council during a condolence visit to Anirah at his Sapele residence on Saturday, January 15, 2022, the state chairman, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, told the lawmaker to take solace in the fact that his mother lived a fulfilled life before departing to the great beyond at the ripe age of 95.

Comrade Ikeogwu was accompanied on the condolence visit by his Vice, Comrade Salvation Ogono, Assistant Secretary, Comrade Felix Ekwu and the Auditor, Comrade Celestine Afakobah, who were supported by some officers and members of the Sapele Chapel of the NUJ.

The Delta NUJ chairman noted the strong relationship existing between Anirah and the Council and pledged the support of the Union towards a successful burial ceremony of his mother when a fixed date is finally taken.

He particularly noted the exemplary lifestyle which bequeathed to Anirah by his late mother describing the lawmaker as a philanthropist and one committed to the well-being of his people.

The lawmaker Ikeogwu stated further desires to be re-elected by his people for a second term at the State Legislature when he decides to seek their mandate again to enable him to consolidate on his numerous achievements even as a first-time lawmaker in the 8th Assembly.

Responding, Hon Felix Anirah thanked the Delta NUJ for their show of solidarity and partnership which according to him will continue to be mutually beneficial.

He said he will be glad to see NUJ play a role in his mother’s burial.

Mrs Clara Anirah (Nee Pemu) is survived by four sons and three daughters.
