The member representing Udu Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Peter Uviejitobor has begun another round of empowerment programmes for his constituents.

The empowerment to the tune of two million naira is to further appreciate the electorates over the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State during the 2019 general elections.

The sum of money is being distributed across ten PDP wards in the council area at the ratio of two hundred thousand naira per ward.

Hon Uviejitobor flagged off the first phase of the “Udu PDP Empowerment Programme” at Otor-Udu, headquarters of the local government with the presentation of the sum of two hundred thousand naira each to PDP wards 1, 2, 3 and 4, bringing the amount to eight hundred thousand naira.

He said others wards will follow suit as the empowerment programme, an initiative of the leadership of the party in the local government area, progresses.

According to the lawmaker, the gesture was to further say thank you to the people for voting en-mass for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and himself in the last Governorship and House of Assembly elections, noting that he cannot appreciate the electorates enough for their massive supports for PDP during the electoral contests.

The legislator explained that although he contributed to the empowerment programme by the party, the additional two hundred thousand naira presentations to each of the wards were personal donations to further appreciate the people for their love for him and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

Hon Uviejitobor, who is the Chairman, Assembly Committee on Water Resources Development, maintained that the sum would enhance the socio-economic status of the beneficiaries, even as he enjoined them to make judicious use of the money.

He promised never to be distracted in providing quality representation for Udu Constituency and assured the people of more dividends of democracy.

Hon Uviejitobor urged the constituents to sustain their support for the Okowa’s led government in its desire for a better and greater Delta State.

PDP Chairman in Udu, Hon David Siloko recalled his earlier admonitions to elected and appointed officials in the council area, on the need to impact the lives of party faithful positively and commended Hon Uviejitobor for being a good ambassador to the people.

Others who spoke also paid glowing tributes to the Udu Lawmaker for his commitment to good governance and quality leadership, stressing that Hon Uviejitobor has been selfless in service to humanity.

They pledged their unalloyed support to him, the governor and the PDP.
