The member representing Isoko South 2 Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Ferguoson Onwo, has presented cash gifts to thirteen women to boost their small and medium scale enterprises, a high capacity Farmax Diesel Engine, tools, other accessories as well as a fully built workshop to three young constituents that had since completed apprenticeship in Wielding Skills Acquisition.

Onwo also formally handed over a renovated town hall building for Etesor Community in the locality at a ceremony which held in Olomoro, Isoko South Local Government Area.

Speaking while presiding over the three programmes, Onwo promised never to renege in his electioneering campaign promises.

He said the different programmes were aimed at raising the standard of living and economic fortunes of his constituents.

The lawmaker restated his resolve to continue to put smiles on the faces of his people.

Onwo flanked by some political and community leaders in Isoko nation including the Chairman, Isoko South Local Government, Chief Victor Asasa and wife, Adaobi Asasa, described the day as unique as it provided another opportunity for him to say thank you to the women and others for their support in the last two years.

While assuring that more persons would benefit from the gesture, the lawmaker who is the Chairman, House Committee on Housing and Women Affairs Development, challenged the women to form Cooperative Societies as that is government policy and it can no longer deal with individuals in its programs.

The Isoko South Council Boss, Sir Victor Asasa and the State PDP Woman Leader, Lady Kawidia Koboko, represented by Lady Nkem Odili, an ex-official of the party, commended Hon Onwo for empowering the women, stressing that the benefits were enormous.

They urged the women to remain focused and committed in their support for PDP and never be deceived by the antics of opposition parties in the state.

The PDP Woman Leader, Isoko South, Madam Ogbolor Afokoeghene, who was also a recipient of the cash gift, thanked the Lawmaker for the gesture which she said will further promote the various businesses of the beneficiaries.

Others who spoke also paid glowing tributes to Hon Onwo for his numerous empowerment programs and other interventions in the Constituency, noting that his efforts in enhancing the quality of lives of constituents were commendable.

On the renovated Etesor Community Hall, Hon Onwo stated that it was a fulfillment of promise made when it was requested by the people and he announced the donation of additional fifty plastic chairs to furnish the hall.

He said the people should have a conducive environment to meet and discuss issues that would promote peace, security and governance in the community.

The Chairman, Etesor Community, Prince Onoriode Ujewe, described Hon Onwo as a promise keeper and commended him for making himself available to serve.

The highpoint of the events was the presentation of a high capacity Diesel Engine Welding Machine, Welding Tools and a fully built Workshop to three young constituents, Wisdom Abba, Emmanuel Bosin and Arabor Odede.

Hon Onwo restated his determination to making more youths in Isoko Nation self reliant and employers of Labour, stressing that the Wealth Creation Policy of the Okowa’s government should be supported by all critical stakeholders.

The Lawmaker who is the Vice Chairman, House Committee on Youth Development, said raising hardworking and focused generation was key to the growth of any society and urged youths in the state to take advantage of the various wealth creation programs of the government to establish themselves.

Hon Onwo who spoke along side, the Chairman, Isoko South, Sir Victor Asasa, charged the three young artisans to put the donated items to good use as they are expected to succeed and in turn, empower others.

The elated Wisdom Abba, Emmanuel Bosin and Arabor Odede, expressed appreciation to Hon Ferguoson Onwo and promised to support the Lawmaker in his efforts in changing the narratives of the younger citizens from poverty to prosperity.
