The 150 million Naira worth of relief materials donated by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, to affected flood victims in the state has been distributed to the various Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, camps across the state.

Also accompanying the distribution of the relief materials to the camps were the various shared amounts from the total sum of 50 million Naira donation to flood victims in the state by the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Tinubu and Omo-Agege had recently donated N200M in cash and relief materials to the flood victims in Delta State to ameliorate the sufferings being faced by victims of the devastating flood which ravaged some communities across the state and other parts of Nigeria.

The relief materials worth 150 million Naira were delivered to Delta State and warehoused at a hall in the Agbarho-Otor residence of the Delta Central APC campaign coordinator, Chief Ominimini Obiuwevbi, in Ughelli North Local Government Area.

From Tuesday, November 8, 2022, as directed by the Director-General of the APC Delta State Campaign Council, Elder Godsday Orubebe, teams comprising the party’s candidates, coordinators and party chairmen from across the affected local government areas began arriving at the Agbarho-Otor residence of Ominimini to take delivery of the relief materials and cash to the IDP camps in the areas.

Conducting Chief Ede Dafinone round the heaps of relief materials, Chief Ominimini said the items comprising bags of rice, beans, salt; cartons of seasoning cubes; blankets, mosquito nets, guinea brocade, wax print, roofing sheets and bags of nails are being delivered to a total of 18 IDP camps.

The cash donation of 50 million Naira he explained has also been subdivided into the ratio of 5 million Naira and 2, 333, 000 million Naira.

Chief Ominimini commended Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for keeping to their words.

Chief Dafinone who was on ground to supervise the delivery of the relief materials and monies to the camps in Delta Central thanked Chief Ominimini for making his residence for the warehousing of the relief materials and also committing himself to ensure that the items and money were distributed accordingly to the IDP camps.

Among those who took delivery of the relief materials were the two candidates of the APC for Ughelli North Constituency One and Two, Matthew Omonode and Mr Spence for IDP camps in Ughelli North; Engr Juluga Philip, Oshimili South and Sir Joe Asem, Aniocha South.

They applauded the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for the donations.

It is expected that the 150 million Naira worth of relief materials donated by Ovie Omo-Agege and cash of 50 million Naira by Bola Tinubu including that of the Delta State Government and other organisations and good-spirited individuals would go a long way to put smiles on the faces of affected flood victims in Delta State.
