Delta govt jacks up housing loans for workers

Delta Government has reviewed upward existing housing loans for all categories of workers in the state civil service.

The approved housing loans exist for all categories of workers under the Delta State Public Officers’ Housing Loan Scheme (POHLS).

The state Head of Service (HOS), Mr Reginald Bayoko, conveyed the approval of the state governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, for the upward review of the housing loans via a circular he personally signed with reference number HOS.14/2/1/VOL.1/T2/5 and dated August 4, 2022.

“Concerned about the need to give a more realistic outlook to the Public Officers Housing Loan Scheme (POHL); His Excellency, the Governor, has graciously approved an upward review of the loan rates to reflect the current inflationary trend and ultimately improve the welfare of Public Servants in the State,” said Bayoko in the circular.

The details of the old and new rates of the housing loans as contained in the circular are indicated below:

S/N SALARY GRADE LEVELS OLD  LOAN RATE (N) APPROVED NEW LOAN RATE (N)
i SGL.01- SGL.06   1,500,000.00 3,000,000.00
ii SGL.07- SGL. 12   2,000,000.00 4,000,000.00
iii SGL.13-Above   2,500,000.00 5,000,000.00
