Delta Council Polls: DSIEC begins verification of candidates particulars on Monday

The Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC, will tomorrow Monday, January 11, 2021, commence verification of personal particulars submitted by candidates vying for various elective positions for March 6, 2021, local government council elections in the state.

The Chairman of the Commission, Chief Mike Ogbodu, in a statement, said the exercise holding at DSIEC’s Headquarters, KM 8, Asaba-Onitsha Expressway, Asaba, is expected to last for three days.

According to the DSIEC Boss, candidates from Burutu, Bomadi, Patani, Warri North, Warri South-West, Warri South, Isoko South and Isoko North will be attended to on Monday, January 11, 2021, between 9:00am to 4:00pm.

While on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, same time arrangement, it will be the turn for candidates from Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Uvwie, Ethiope West, Okpe, Sapele, Udu and Ethiope East local government areas.

The verification exercise is expected to end on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, with candidates from Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Ukwuani, Oshimili South, Oshimili North, Aniocha South, Ika North East, Ika South and Aniocha North.

The statement enjoined stakeholders, particularly registered political parties and their candidates to make themselves available for the verification exercise.

It also urged the candidates to appear in their face masks for the exercise and are expected to observe all Covid 19 protocols.
