Hon. Augustine Uroye, the lawmaker representing Warri South Constituency One in the Delta State House of Assembly, has earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Administration from the Department of Political Science, Novena University, Ogume.
The degree was formally conferred on Friday, December 12, 2025, marking a major academic milestone for the two-term legislator, who also chairs the House Committee on DESOPADEC.
His doctoral research focused on “Executive–Legislative Relations and Project Delivery in the South-South Zone of Nigeria.”
Speaking after successfully defending his thesis, Uroye expressed deep gratitude to God for strength and guidance throughout the demanding academic journey.
He also acknowledged the unwavering support of his family, describing them as his backbone during demanding study periods.
The lawmaker further extended appreciation to his lecturers in the department, noting that their dedication and guidance shaped the quality of his work.
He praised both the internal and external examiners whose scrutiny, insights, and constructive engagements sharpened his thesis and ensured its academic merit.
Uroye, a former Transition Committee Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, said the achievement reinforces his commitment to effective public service, adding that the knowledge gained will enhance his legislative contributions.
He dedicated the milestone to everyone who supported him along the way, stating that the journey has strengthened his resolve to continue delivering value to his constituency and the state.
