In line with the rescheduled dates for the conduct of the 2023 general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Chairman of the Delta State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), Hon Ejaife Omizu Odebala, has resigned his appointment.

Odebala, who is among the 2023 governorship aspirants from Delta Central Senatorial District in his resignation letter dated Monday, February 28, 2022, and addressed to the Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa said, “This resignation is in compliance with the newly signed Electoral Act Amendment Bill as I pursue my ambition for the 2023 gubernatorial election”.

Meanwhile, a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former state Commissioner for Bureau for Special Duties, Dr Tony Nwaka, also Monday announced his resignation from the PDP.

Nwaka in a statement he personally signed and addressed to the Chairman, PDP Ward 2 in Aniocha South Local Government Area said, “Recent developments between me and the party have left me with no other option but to seek alternative platforms for the expression of my political beliefs (Alternative pedestals that are more amenable to my convictions about politics and public service”.

On the political party he intends to express his political beliefs, Nwaka in a phone chat with NewsNet Nigeria Correspondent said, “I will take my time, I will reflect on available option then know which of the direction I will take at the appropriate time”.
