The Efetobo and Oteri families of Orogun Kingdom, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, have announced the passing and burial arrangements for their beloved matriarch, Late Deaconess Mrs Margaret Akaruese Efetobo-Ishekwene (née Oteri), who died at the age of 62.
In a statement issued by the family, her death was described as a painful but divinely accepted transition, embraced with total submission to the will of God Almighty.
The late Deaconess was remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, mother-in-law, and a committed servant of God whose life was defined by faith, humility, and service to humanity.
Born into the Oteri family and married into the Efetobo family, she was a respected daughter of Orogun Kingdom in Ughelli North, Delta State, where she made lasting contributions to family, church, and community life.
Funeral activities will commence on Thursday, February 26, 2026, with a Service of Songs scheduled for 4:00pm at Christ Gospel Church, located at 9 Esevwode Street, behind Olodi Primary School, Warri.
On Saturday, February 28, 2026, the body will depart the Cottage Hospital Morgue, Erhioke, at 10:00am for a brief stop at her husband’s family compound in Ozuaka-Orogun.
By 11:00am, she will lie in state at Omo Secondary School, after which interment will take place along Omo Secondary School Road.
A reception for guests and traditional in-law greetings will follow at noon at Omo Secondary School, Ovara-Unukpo, Orogun.
The funeral rites will conclude on Sunday, March 1, 2026, with a thanksgiving service at 8:00am at Christ Gospel Church, Warri, celebrating a life devoted to God, family, and service.
The burial announcement was jointly signed by Mr Anthony Oteri, for the family and Mr Ochuko Efetobo, for the children.
