Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District, has congratulated Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on his emergence as Governor of the Year 2025 by two national media organisations, describing the recognition as a proud moment for the state.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the people of Delta Central, the lawmaker said the double honours conferred by New Telegraph Newspapers and Leadership Newspapers reflect the growing national acknowledgment of the governor’s leadership style and policy direction under the M.O.R.E. agenda.
According to Dafinone, the awards are a validation of governance anchored on inclusivity and measurable impact.
He noted that the administration’s emphasis on people-oriented programmes has ensured that development is not limited to official pronouncements but is visible in communities across the state.
The senator highlighted ongoing infrastructural expansion as one of the defining features of the governor’s tenure.
He pointed to extensive road construction, bridges, and urban renewal initiatives that have reshaped both urban and rural areas, describing the transformation as evidence of deliberate planning and execution.
He further stated that the “Advancing Delta” vision has placed the state on a firmer developmental footing, creating opportunities for economic growth while improving connectivity and access for residents.
Dafinone assured the governor of continued legislative support and collaboration, stressing that the recognition serves not only as commendation for achievements recorded so far but also as encouragement to sustain the pace of progress.
He expressed confidence that the administration’s ongoing projects and reforms would further strengthen Delta’s development trajectory in the years ahead.
