A disturbing video circulating on social media has sparked outrage after armed men, alleged to be members of Operation Udo Ga-Achi, also known as the Agunechemba Vigilante Group, violently invaded a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) lodge in Anambra State and assaulted corps members.
The footage, released on Monday by the Haven 360 Foundation via Facebook, showed one of the victims, Jennifer Edema Elohor, being mercilessly beaten, stripped naked, and left bloodied by the armed vigilantes.
According to Haven 360, the incident occurred on July 23, 2025, when the vigilante operatives stormed the corpers’ lodge, accusing the occupants of engaging in internet fraud, popularly known as “Yahoo Yahoo.” Despite the corps members presenting their official NYSC identity cards and uniforms, the vigilantes subjected them to severe beatings, humiliation, and threats of sexual assault.
“The assault was particularly egregious in the case of Jennifer Edema Elohor, who was beaten, stripped naked, and left exposed and covered in blood,” the foundation stated.
It added that the victims were further subjected to sexually degrading remarks and threats, actions it described as a gross violation of human rights and dignity.
The Haven 360 Foundation strongly condemned the incident, calling on relevant authorities, including the NYSC Directorate, Anambra State Government, and federal security agencies, to urgently investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice.
This latest development has intensified debates over the activities of vigilante groups in the South-East, many of whom have been accused of human rights abuses and operating with little oversight.
