A suspected thief who specializes in shoplifting has been caught by residents of Ekete Community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State while trying to break into a computer business centre.
NewsNet Nigeria gathered that the suspect, identified as Ovie, was caught last Friday morning.
He was said to have met his Waterloo when residents of Ekete Link Road, who have been vigilant over recent cases of burglary of shops and houses burglars, caught him.
The thief had gone to a computer business centre with a cart and car tyre jack, which were suspected to be the equipment to open the drop-down doors of the shops.
His sight in the cart drew the attention of a lot of residents and passersby including parents taking their wards to school.
Residents later handed the suspect to men of the Nigeria Police Force from Ovwian/Aladja Division.
Some residents who spoke off camera disclosed that the thief is a familiar face in the locality and wondered why he resorted to stealing as a means of survival.
The owners of the computer business centre also followed up to officially report the case at the Police station.
