Men of the Delta State Police Command have arrested the second suspect in the alleged murder of a 50-year-old woman, Mrs Patience Komore, who until her death was a pepper seller at Umeh village in Isoko South Local Government Area of the state.
The Command’s Acting Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest of the suspect, Akpoghene Idogo on Saturday.
The police imagemaker said Akpoghene Idogo, a shoemaker was arrested at his hideout somewhere in Kwale area of the state.
“Following a tip off, the DPO Oleh SP Paul Oboware on 6/8/21 led a combined team of police/vigilante and some community leaders to Kwale town where one Akpoghene Idogo shoemaker ‘m’ 20yrs was arrested,” DSP Edafe said in a statement.
The police had earlier arrested Akpoghene’s accomplice, one Onos Simon, over the murder of the pepper trader, Mrs. Patience Komore, while in a business transaction to purchase pepper.
The police had said that efforts were on top gear to arrest other conspirators who paid the two alleged murderers the sum of N100,000 to kill the woman for ritual purposes.
