Popular Robson G. Shopping plaza along Okumagba Avenue in Warri, Delta State was for some hours on Tuesday not opened for business.
NewsNet learnt that shops were under lock and keys with traders holding at a meeting inside the plaza.
Intending customers, sales girls and boys were also seen hanging around the plaza pending when the traders will rise from the meeting.
Details as to why the plaza was shutdown was still sketchy at the time of this report.
Our Correspondent gathered that the plaza may have been shut down because some of the shops were allegedly burgled even with the presence of security dogs and night guards at the weekend.
Several mobile phones and accessories were alleged to have been stolen from the shops that were burgled and one suspect has been apprehended in connection with the crime.
A worker in the plaza who craved anonymity said the acts are becoming too much for both the traders and their workers to bear.
He said the night guards should be interrogated properly to ascertain the position of the matter as these kinds of nefarious acts could not happen without the efforts of an insider.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, told Newsnet that she could not make any comment because such incident has not been reported to the Police in the area.
