Police Recover Stolen Mercedes-Benz GLK on Sale at Asaba Parking Lot

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have recovered a suspected stolen Mercedes-Benz GLK at a parking lot on Former Deputy Road, Asaba, where it was being offered for sale.

The Divisional Police Officer of B Division, Asaba, CSP Edewor Akponegware, acting on credible intelligence, led the officers of the Division’s Crime Branch to the location to intercept the planned sale.

The spokesperson for the Command, SP Bright Edafe, said in a statement on Sunday that “The intelligence operation resulted in the arrest of one Chinedu Eze, who claimed ownership of the vehicle while attempting to sell it to an unsuspecting buyer.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle, bearing registration number NZM10AP, was first registered in April 2023 and again in 2025.”

He stated further that contact with the initial registrant confirmed it had been snatched at gunpoint in April 2023 at Abakpa, Enugu State, during which suspected armed robbers shot the rightful owner.
