A point-of-sale (POS) operator in Orhuwhorun town, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, Diemiruye Bekederemo Tamaraebi has been detained at the Nigeria Police Force, Divisional Headquarters Ovwian/Aladja after one of his attendants, Faith Onyenju, disappeared with N70,000 for the day’s transactions.

The 15-year-old Faith Onyenju NewsNet Nigeria gathered on Friday, November 3, 2023, left her parents’ house on No. 115 Ojikpata Layout, Orhuwhorun to her boss’s store at Adanibo Junction in Orhuwhorun town where he, Diemiruye Bekederemo Tamaraebi, handed her a POS machine and N70,000 for transactions in the store at the POS stand at Usiefurun Junction.

A dependable source privy to the development told this medium that when Faith Onyenju got to the store after a while she dropped the POS machine and left with the N70,000 without leaving a message with anyone about where she was going.

According to the source, her boss, Diemiruye Bekederemo Tamaraebi called her line several times but she did not pick a situation which prompted him to visit the shop.

He however found out that Faith has since the morning of that day disappeared without any trace.

Faith had left her phone to charge at home and her mother, Odili Joy Anwuli, worried by the several missed calls on Faith’s phone including that of her boss, rushed to the POS stand at Usiefurun Junction with the intent of alerting her that her boss was calling her only to find out that she was not there.

According to a police extract from the Ovwian/Aladja Division signed by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Bulus Musa, when Faith’s mother met her daughter’s boss and asked after her, the boss, Diemiruye Bekederemo Tamaraebi, “told her, Faith dropped her POS machine and left with his money”.

NewsNet Nigeria learnt that after Faith’s mother incidented the matter at the police station, Diemiruye Bekederemo Tamaraebi was arrested and detained for some hours before he was released.

The case has been referred to JWC IV for investigation to unravel the whereabouts of the 15-year-old Faith Onyenju, who is dark in complexion, 4 feet tall and speaks English fluently.
