Police arrest suspect with G3 rifle in Delta

The Delta State Police Command says its operatives from Area Command Warri have arrested a suspected armed robber with one G3 rifle.

The suspect, Randy Omovie according to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe was arrested on Sunday, January 2, 2022, when the operatives acting on intelligence gathering raided Ugborikoko community in Uvwie Local Government Area.

The G3 rifle with breach No. 69021340 and a battle-axe were recovered from him.

During the raid in the community, a suspected drug dealer, Sunny Blessing was also arrested with substance suspected to be Indian hemp soaked in gin, fourteen wraps of substance suspected to be cocaine, eight bottles of codeine, ten cups of loud recovered from him.

Also, on Friday, January 7, 2022, Dragon Patrol Teams of the Command while on stop and search duty on Warri/Sapele Road intercepted a Toyota Venza with Reg. no. FKJ 420 GT, chassis number 4t3bk3bb0bu056957 and Engine number 6668351.

The police image-maker in the statement said the Toyota Venza Grey in colour was driven by one Akpoyerinebele, aged 33 of mechanic village Effurun in the company of another occupant (name unknown), who immediately took to his heels and ran into the bush while the driver was arrested.

He explained that upon searching the vehicle, a phone number belonging to the owner of the vehicle was found inside, and when was contacted through the phone number the owner of the vehicle confirmed that the vehicle was snatched at NDC road Ozoro at gunpoint by a five-man robbery gang the same day.
