Imo State Police Command has said that Chief Uche Nwosu, the son-in-law of former Governor Rochas Okorocha was not kidnapped but arrested.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Michael Abattam, said Nwosu, a 2019 governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the state was arrested by the police on Sunday adding that the politician was in their custody.
“Nwosu was arrested by the police, not kidnapped as insinuated in the social media.”
He said the arrest was in connection with “a case that is under investigation.”
Nwosu, it was gathered was whisked away from the St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Eziama-Obaire in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State, during the Outing Service of his mother, late Jemamah Nwosu.
