Three suspected kidnappers have been identified by a victim and arrested by operatives of the Delta State Police Command.
The kidnapped victim (name withheld) of Uvwiana Road, Agbarha according to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, reported that on Saturday, January 22, 2023, he was kidnapped along Esiso Street Agbarho but, in the process of transferring him to another vehicle, he escaped from his abductors.
“Consequently, on 23/01/2022 at about 0930hrs, the victim spotted one of the hoodlums and he immediately alerted the DPO Agbarho Division CSP Samuel Ogwa, who swiftly mobilised and led Police operatives to the area where the suspect named Godstime Rufus “M” age 22yrs of Esiso street Agbarho was arrested.
“Upon further interrogation and investigation, the suspect led operatives to their hideout where two other suspects namely, Stanley Efeme “M” age 21yrs of NEPA Line and Davidson Esiso “M” age 35yrs of no. 25 Osah Street Agbarho were arrested and they were all identified by the victim,” said the statement.
Also, police operatives from the Oleh Division, Isoko South Local Government Area have arrested four suspected armed robbers who on March 5, 2021, robbed one man (name withheld) of his Qlink Motorcycle and shot him between Olomoro and Ehwne Communities.
However, the thirty-three-year-old man, who was taken to Olomro General Hospital where he was treated and discharged on Sunday, January 23, 2022, spotted one of the hoodlums around Sagbama, Bayelsa State and he immediately alerted the Delta State Police Command.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, then directed that operatives from Oleh Division proceed to Bayelsa State for a discreet investigation with a view to arresting the suspects.
“Upon an intelligence led investigation, one George Akporie ‘m’ age 25yrs, Prosper Asaeta ‘m’ age 29yrs and Eziekel Stephen ‘m’ age 23yrs all of Igbide Community, Oleh were arrested at Sagbama in Bayelsa State.
“One locally-made gun was recovered from the suspects and they will be charged to court upon completion of investigation,” the Command’s spokesman said in the statement.
