A commercial motorcycle operator, Mr. Saturday Onajite, who is currently bearing bullets at the back of his head today said he was shot and robbed by suspected armed robbers who carted away his motorcycle at Oberia Street in Ughelli Community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The forty-nine year old man said the incident occurred at about 8am on Friday, February 5.

Narrating his ordeal before newsmen in Ughelli, the motorcyclist said he picked two passengers at market road at the said time and was conveying them to Oberia Street.

According to him, “They said I should go to the corner and I did. The next thing I heard was a gunshot. They stole my bike and money. I could not know myself again because I was bleeding on the ground until people came to rush me to the hospital.”

Onajite who is still carrying bullets at the back of his head said he spent over one hundred and thirty thousand naira for medical treatments(removing of the bullets.)

He also said that he does not have an idea of what his master(owner of bike) may have spent in addition to his treatment.

Onajite also pointed out that there are bullets still in his head that are yet to be removed.

Onajite stressed that he is currently being disturbed by the bullets in his body and that he is in dire need of twenty-five thousand naira to remove the other bullets trado-medically from his head.

He pleaded with good spirited Nigerians to come to his aid so as to enable him get back on his feet again.

The shooting and robbery of the motorcyclist is just one of the many dastard acts carried out on innocent citizens by suspected armed robbers, cultists and kidnappers in the state.

Residents of Delta State have continued to appeal to the state government and relevant security agencies to do everything possible to curb the rate of crimes.
