A human rights group and non-governmental organisation, the Crusaders, has called on the Delta state government to prosecute a former Principal of the State School of Nursing, Warri, Mr Timothy Ogaga, over alleged sexual molestation, harassment and rape against female students of the school.

The protesters led by the Director General of the Crusaders, Comrade Terry Oteri, stated this during a peaceful protest at Government House, Asaba

Comrade Oteri appealed to the state government to assist the victims to get justice adding that Mr Timothy Ogaga should be prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others.

Comrade Oteri who is also a Special Assistant to the State Governor on Special Duties and Ombudsman said that the matter should not be swept under the carpet as Mr Timothy Ogaga had boasted that nothing would come out of the matter.

He said a panel was set up to investigate the alleged infractions by Mr Timothy Ogaga and was indicted but nothing had been done to implement the report, adding that the matter was also before the Delta State Commissioner of Police.

Comrade Oteri appealed for justice for the victims, particularly one of the victims who was alleged to have been raped by Mr Timothy Ogaga.

While calling on the state government to save female students who faced sexual harassment in the school of Nursing, Comrade Oteri said sexual molestation, harassment, defilement and rape were serious offences which should not be treated with kid gloves.

He said though Mr Timothy Ogaga was no longer the principal of the school of Nursing, Warri, he had threatened to return as the principal of the school hence the need to prosecute him and allow justice to prevail.

Mr Timothy Ogaga however refuted the allegations in a telephone conversation, saying that it was all blackmail.

Mr Ogaga stated that there was no case of sexual molestation noting that he was being blackmailed because he stood on his ground that students would not cheat in examinations.

He explained that some students have been paying people to blackmail him but he has integrity that can not be destroyed.
