The father of Blessing Akpovwovwo, who was reportedly murdered by her boyfriend suspected to be a ‘yahoo boy’ has given a contrary account of where the corpse of his daughter was found.

Media reports had said the suspect(boyfriend) was caught while attempting to dump the body of Blessing in a bush.

Sources were quoted to have said the suspect, whose identity is yet to be ascertained was nabbed by a passerby on Thursday evening, as he (the suspect) was attempting to dispose of the lifeless body of Blessing.

But speaking exclusively to NewsNet on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, said the father of the deceased in his statement at the Police station at Abraka did not say that his daughter’s boyfriend was a yahoo boy or fraudster.

Onovwakpoyeya said from the statement, “The father said his daughter died in the boyfriend’s house.

“When she died, they took her to the hospital and abandoned her there.

“It was then reported to the police after which they went to the hospital where they saw bruises on her toes.

“It was then they took her corpse to the morgue,” said Onovwakpoyeya.

The Police Imagemaker confirmed that the boyfriend of the deceased and one of his friends have been arrested and investigation has also commenced.
