Former member of the House of Representatives for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in Delta State, Joan Onyemaechi has been freed by her abductors.
Joan Onyemaechi, who is the immediate past Delta State Commissioner for Technical Education, was last Tuesday kidnapped while attending a meeting at Church on the popular DBS Road Asaba, the Delta State capital in a ‘Commando’ like manner by daredevil gunmen who shot sporadically killing two persons as they made their way to a river bank to transport her to an unknown destination.
Sources told NewsNet Nigeria that wide jubilation rented the air as the news of her regaining her freedom filtered into Asaba after the apprehension and uncertainty that greeted her ten-day stay in her kidnappers’ den.
The spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the release of the renowned female politician without giving further details.
Also, one of her aides confirmed her release via a post on Facebook.
Born in 1966, from Ubulu-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area, Joan Onyemaechi popularly called Ada-Anioma holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Jos, Plateau State.
