As the nationwide protests continue to spread against the operations of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS in the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, the member representing Ughelli Constituency II in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Eric Oharisi has condemned the killing of a policeman in Ughelli.

The lawmaker described as barbaric the alleged killing of the policeman by protesters of the #ENDSARS in Ughelli.

Oharisi condoled with the family of the deceased policeman who lost his life and that of the youth who sustained injuries during the face-off with operatives of the “Operation Safe Delta” who were taken for SARS last Saturday.

In a chat with newsmen, Hon. Oharisi appealed to the police authorities to release all those arrested during the protest in Ughelli.

He urged the protesters to sheath their swords and allow peace reign in Ughelli kingdom.

The lawmaker also warned the protesters to stop taking laws into their hands pointing out that he had waded into the disturbances in Ughelli with a view to calm nerves.

While noting that the situation has been brought under control, Hon. Oharisi urged the youths to go about their legitimate businesses peacefully.

He stressed that the relevant security agencies and stakeholders have moved into the matter for a lasting solution to the problem.
