Delta: Native Doctor Arrested for Concealing Firearms in Ceiling

Operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime Squad, Delta State Police Command, have arrested a native doctor, Okonji Chimeze, for illegal possession of firearms.

Chimeze, 47, was apprehended on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at his residence in Umuehe Quarter, Ibusa, in Oshimili North Local Government Area, following credible intelligence.

During a search of the premises, the operatives recovered two automatic pump-action guns and a cutlass concealed in the ceiling of his room.

The operation was carried out under a valid search warrant.

Confirming the arrest, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, stated, “The suspect and the recovered exhibits are currently in custody as investigation is ongoing.”

Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
