What could make a man murder his lover in her sleep?

This is the rude and shocking mystery the residents of Okolo Inland community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State are yet to come to terms with following the murder of Felisher Akpomeria Katibekpe of Okoro Quater, Ubogo community while she was asleep by her lover, Mr Austin Orise Golah.

When 45-year-old Felisher Akpomeria Katibekpe, left home at the close of business to meet her lover, Mr Austin Orise Golah last Thursday night, she never knew that it would lead to a sudden and painful end to her time on earth.

The night she thought would be romantic turned out to be a sour story on Friday morning.

Residents of Okolo Inland community woke up to the shocking news of the murder and the gory sight of the corpse of the lover of Mr Austin Orise Golah.

At the time the residents got to the apartment where the deceased shared with her partner the previous night, the suspect had run away.

The sorrow of the residents of Okolo Inland who were still trying to absorb the shock and coming to terms with the reality of the incident was compounded by the people of Ubogo Community where the late woman hailed from.

Pained by the cold blooded murder of their daughter, her family members destroyed some of the buildings near the scene of the murder and that of the suspect’s family were also not spared from the wrath of the deceased family.

NewsNet Nigeria Correspondent visited the area there was still heightened tension in the community as many residents, including family were annoyed over the sacrilege allegedly committed by the suspect.

The family of Golah in Okolo Inland Community it was gathered went in frantic search of the suspect and caught him at his hideout in Ologbo Dukedom, Edo State.

The suspect, whose picture was shared widely on social media has been reportedly handed over to the Ovwian/Aladja Divisional Police and subsequently transferred to the Delta State Police Command, Asaba.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe in a chat confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspect.

The remains of the slain woman have been deposited in a morgue by the family.

With the arrest of Austin Orise Golah it is expected the police will unravel why he murdered his lover, Felisher Akpomeria Katibekpe.

Though, they dated for a long time, they never had any children together.
