The Delta State House of Assembly has called on security agents to unmask the persons behind the shooting of a member of the House, Hon Reuben Izeze.
Recall that Hon Izeze, who represents Ughelli South Constituency, was on Thursday, December 23, 2021, shot by yet to be identified gunmen in the Effurun area of the state.
In a statement on Monday, the Majority Leader of the House and Chairman, House Committee on Information, Hon Ferguson Onwo, prayed for the quick recovery of Izeze.
Onwo regretted the pains the sad development had caused the member, the immediate family, the people of Ughelli South and the entire Legislature, saying that there shall be no more loss in the State House of Assembly.
He expressed gratitude to God for saving the life of Hon Izeze and stressed the need for law enforcement agencies to unravel those behind the ugly incident.
The Lawmaker emphasized that proper investigation into the matter was key to forestalling future reoccurrence of similar incidents.
The Majority Leader while wishing Deltans a prosperous new year, restated that the 2022 fiscal year promises to be great and urged the people to remain focused and supportive to the Okowa’s led government in the state.
