300 female students of Government Girls Secondary School, GSS, Jangebe in Talatar Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State were at the early hours of Friday abducted by bandits.
The bandits were said to have stormed the school around 1 am in Hilux vehicles and a number of motorcycles in security uniforms.
According to The Nation, the first batch of bandits came went to the school premises, pretending security operatives before the arrival of the second batch.
Spokesman of the Zamfara Police Command SP Muhammad Shehu informed The Nation a statement on the incident would be issued in few hours.
This incident came a day after the State Government boasted of succeeding in the fight against banditry through its peace initiative.
