Again, tension has enveloped Evwreni community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State following the killing of three persons on Wednesday night.
A dependable source who craved anonymity told NewsNet Nigeria that the first killing which took place at Urevwe quarters a few poles away from Ovie’s palace involved two members of the community disbanded Vigilante.
According to our source, one Festus Wilfred allegedly shot dead another member of the disbanded Vigilante, Ese Ochuko Emmanuel, during a heated argument over an undisclosed issue.
“As the argument was hot, Festus Wilfred brought out a gun and shot Ese Emmanuel Ochuko in the head and immediately he died. On noticing that Ese Emmanuel Ochuko died Festus Wilfred fled.
“When the co-vigilante noticed that their colleague was dead, they took revenge and killed the mother of Festus and Festus’s son,” said the source who is a native of the community.
It was gathered that Festus’ mother and his son were murdered in a gruesome manner.
While his mother was set ablaze and died when outside when she could get help, the son was lifted and smashed on the ground.
As of the time of filing this report, the Delta State Police Command is yet to officially comment on the incident.
