The Security Council of Isoko South Local Government in Delta State has imposed 24 hours indefinite curfew in Igbide and Emede communities following resumed hostility between both communities.
The hostility which started on Tuesday has led to several killings, arson and other criminalities in the two communities.
Rising from an emergency security meeting on Thursday, the Security Council of Isoko South Local Government also resolved that the 24 hours indefinite curfew in Igbide and Emede communities should commence from 6pm today (Thursday) December 11, 2020, with the warning that defaulters will be severely punished.
The Security Council which declared the killings, wanton destruction and arson acts of extreme criminality, suspended the salaries of the Ovies of Igbide and Emede while it takes steps to officially communicate recommendation of retrieval of the monarchs Staff Of Offices to the Delta State government.
A release by the Press Secretary to the Chairman of Isoko South Government, Okah Akpotha Fidelis, further stated that government ceases to recognise the President Generals of Igbide and Emede communities.
