A 22-year-old man (name withheld) who was kidnapped in Ozoro, Delta State has been rescued by the police unhurt.
The victim according to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, was kidnapped on Sunday, March 20, 2022, “and taken away in the boot of his RX 350 car silver in colour with Reg. No. ASB 124 HK by four armed men” towards Ughelli in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.
Following an intelligence-led operation, the Command’s Dragon Patrol Teams 27, 28, 19, 20, and 16, which were deployed to the scene “trailed the kidnappers to PTI junction Effurun, where the kidnappers upon noticing that the teams were closing in on them abandoned the victim and the vehicle and fled”.
The victim’s vehicle was also recovered by the police while a manhunt is ongoing with a view to arresting the fleeing hoodlums.
