A 17-year-old girl who was placed on remand at the Rangwe Police Station in Homa Bay County, Kenya, was allegedly defiled by a police officer, who was taken into custody on Sunday.
A police report stated that at approximately 21:30 pm after the lights had gone off, John Mwangi, who was in charge of the report office, went to the female cells and opened the minor’s cell.
According to Citizen TV, the Kenya minor was allegedly forcibly stripped by Mwangi, who then defiled her while holding her throat.
“At the time of the incident, his colleague Tonny Oketch had gone to get a candle from his house since the area was dark,” according to the police report.
When the victim reported the event to Officer Oketch during a morning shift change, he was instructed to report it to the duty officer, who then notified the OCS.
Mwangi was apprehended after a prompt search, and he will be charged in court today, Monday, 20.For medication, the victim was taken to the Rangwe sub-county hospital in the meantime.
