11 suspects have been arrested for murdering the traditional ruler of Agodo town, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The suspects were arrested by the police for setting ablaze His Royal Highness Oba Odetola Olajide, on January 24, 2022.
Confirming the incident, the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Zonal 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan-Lagos, SP Hauwa Idris-Adamu in a statement said the hoodlums pushed the Traditional Ruler into his Red Toyota Sienna SUV 2016 model with Registration number APP 55 GF while one Agbara drove the vehicle in the company of other hoodlums to a nearby forest, where they poured petrol on him and the vehicle was finally set ablaze with the corpse locked in it.
Idris-Adamu said that the 11 suspects have confessed to their involvements in the crime accusing the deceased traditional ruler of being a land grabber.
The spokesman advised the general public to desist from taking laws into their hands by involving in any form of Criminality as whoever is caught up on the wrong side will face the full wrath of the law.
