Gov Oborevwori approves appointment of first female substantive GM of The Pointer Newspaper, Rosemary Nwaebuni

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the appointment of Mrs Rosemary Eziafa Nwaebuni, as the substantive General Manager of the Delta Printing and Publishing Corporation, publishers of The Pointer Newspaper.

Mrs. Nwaebuni’s appointment is contained in a statement dated February 4, 2025, and signed by the State Commissioner For Works (Rural Roads| & Public Information), Charles Aniagwu.

She is a graduate of Mass Communication from Delta State University Abraka.

Until her appointment, Mrs. Nwaebuni was a Deputy General Manager (Editorial), Editor (Weekend Pointer) and Chairman, Nigeria Union Of Journalists, NUJ, Pointer Chapel.

According to the statement, Mrs Nwaebuni, whose appointment takes effect on February 17, 2025, “…has passed through the crucibles of the corporation and is expected to bring her experience to reposition and refocus the corporation in today’s digital media world.

“Mrs. Nwaebuni with this appointment becomes the first female General
Manager of the corporation and portrays the gender-friendliness of the state
government.

“She succeeds Mr Geofrey Ubaka who proceeds on retirement with effect from
February 16), 2025.”
