The Centre for the Vulnerable & the Underprivileged (CENTREP) has threatened to drag the Delta State Government and the Delta State House of Assembly to Court over wanton lopsided expenditures, disregard for financial regulations amidst other irregularities by the Delta State House of Assembly, Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAS) in the state running into billions of naira.

CENTREP in a press release signed by its Executive Secretary, Oghenejabor Ikimi Esq, said the irregularities are contained in the Delta State Auditor General’s Annual Report released on December, 31st 2020.

The body said it is “presently studying the situation with a view to dragging the Delta State Government and the Delta State House of Assembly to Court so as to identify the culprits for prosecution” adding that “We must make our leaders accountable to the people”.

On the trending death of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr of Dowen College in Lekki, Lagos State, CENTREP said, “our attention has also been drawn to the death of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, the 12-year-old student of Dowen College Lekki, Lagos, who was allegedly murdered by 5 of his fellow schoolmates recently and we call for justice for the late Sylvester Oromoni Jnr.

“We welcome the closure of the school by the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and we call on the Inspector General of Police to ensure that all the culprits involved in the said dastard act are apprehended and brought to book. All lives matter.”
