The President General, Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Olorogun (Barr) Ese Gam Owe has congratulated Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori on his affirmation as the duly elected Governor of Delta State by the Supreme Court.
In a statement, he signed and made available to the media, Olorogun Gam asserted that the victory is a victory for the Urhobo Nation irrespective of party affiliations as God finally allowed power to return to Delta Central Senatorial District after several years of waiting due to the mutual agreement of power rotation across the districts in the state.
He emphasized that the quest to become the Governor of the oil-rich Delta State is a tussle between brothers who patriotically, passionately and zealously demonstrated the strong determination and ‘it’s never over till it’s over’ spirit of every true born of Urhobo Nation.
The UPU PG further called on all the gladiators, sons and daughters of Urhobo Nation and Deltans to support and join Governor Oborevwori to move Delta State forward as everyone cannot be Governor at the same time.
“On behalf of every son and daughter of Urhobo Nation, home and diaspora, I warmly congratulate you on the unique occasion of your victory from the Peoples Democratic Party Primary Election, General Election and favourable court verdict from Tribunal to the Supreme Court.
“The Urhobo Progress Union under my leadership will continue to support your programmes and policies to ensure the overall development of not just the Urhobo territories but Delta State in general through your well thought feasible MORE agenda.
“May God give you the zeal and wisdom as you pilot the affairs of our dear state and reposition it on the trajectory of growth and development,” Gam prayed.
