The member representing Isoko South 2 Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Ferguson Onwo has said that the wide jubilation that greeted the announcement of Hon Solomon Ighrakpata as Chairman of the reconstituted Delta State Board of Internal Revenue Service, DBIRS, was an attestation of the quality of the person of the former Uvwie lawmaker.
Hon Onwo who is the immediate past Majority Leader of the House, said he had followed with keen interest public reactions since the appointment was announced on Tuesday and commended the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s choice of Hon Ighrakpata to head the revenue board.
Onwo who described Ighrakpata as upright and dependable, said the Internal Revenue Service was key to the development of the state, hence the need for a tested and trusted professional to handle the affairs of the board.
The lawmaker maintained that the appointment of Ighrakpata was a square peg in a square hole, and expressed optimism that he will deliver in his new assignment in the state.
Onwo disclosed that as the Majority Leader of the State Assembly, working closely with Hon Ighrakpata who was the Deputy Chief Whip, was very fulfilling and memorable as he was very unique in ideas and contributions on matters of general interest of the House.
He said Ighrakpata all through the four years as a Principal Officer of the State Assembly, proved beyond all shadows of doubt that he is a man to be trusted in the affairs of others.
Hon Onwo congratulated Ighrakpata for the appointment and urged him never to lose focuse, but to remain a shining example to all generations, particularly the political class.
